Meet Sandy Embrescia-Hridel: Revving Up the Strategy Engine
Interrupt’s new Director of Strategic Insights, Sandy Embrescia-Hridel, has spent decades honing his skills in the art and science of understanding customers.
Getting inside the customer’s heart and head to understand the wants, needs, perceptions and behaviors that influence their purchase decision-making process is complex but critically important for companies in today’s hyper-competitive business environment. And Interrupt’s new Director of Strategic Insights, Sandy Embrescia-Hridel, has spent decades honing his skills in the art and science of understanding customers. For Interrupt clients, Sandy leverages his deep experience in qualitative and quantitative research, analysis and insights development to deliver fact-based strategic recommendations.
Sandy notes that his role at Interrupt is a rare one. “There aren’t many places where you can find the deep insights of a business consultancy working hand-in-hand everyday with exceptional creative branding and marketing expertise. Having both core competencies in-house allows us to work toward our clients’ business goals in a way that’s disciplined, strategic and seamless.”
Growing up in a family business helped Sandy to understand the importance of teamwork, adaptability and commitment in achieving business goals. But it was his time in the corporate world that taught him how to leverage data, voice of the customer and fact-based insights to inform strategies. During his time with two major consumer brands, he led marketing, inventory planning and distribution, as well as merchandising and pricing for up to 800 corporately-owned retail locations. Post-corporate tour of duty, Sandy spent 10 years in consumer insights consulting, working for leading brands across products and service categories. His breadth and depth of experience was a perfect match for our team.
“Sandy started adding value from the very first conversation we had with him. We’re thrilled to be able to bring the breadth and depth of his expertise to support our team and our clients,” said Bill Rossiter, Interrupt principal and CEO.
Sandy said one thing that attracted him to Interrupt is the transparent, all-hands-on-deck environment. “There’s no B-team here. We don’t have a sales team going in and then handing off to someone you’ve never met before. The people you meet are the ones who do the work.”
When he’s not thinking about more effective ways for companies to engage with their prospects and customers, Sandy enjoys time with his family, running, yoga and riding fast on anything with two wheels.
